May Potting Day

Here at the Little Red House – flowers are blooming!

Window boxes have been planted.  I do the same every year as they get ZERO sun – white impatiens and varigated vinca vines.  It is just what works.  I especially like the cool white in the summer against the dark red of the house.

HOWEVER, I love planting containers.  I enjoy it more than putting plants into the ground.  I feel like I have so much more flexibility on colors and types of plants I use.

I never make a plan.  I just go to the the greenhouse which is down the street and see what speaks to me.

I should admit this was the first of three trips.

I just love the varigated color on these.  I have two pots that stay in the shade and these are perfect.

Once they are all potted they look just beautiful all together.
